Mashrur Rahman Mahin is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Law and Land Administration, Faculty of Law, University of Rajshahi. Prior to joining the University of Rajshahi, he taught as a Lecturer in the Department of Law at the Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB). He also served as a Visiting Faculty Member at the Bangladesh Open University and as an Examiner in the Department of Law and Justice, Jahangirnagar University.
He holds an LL.B. (Honours) from Jahangirnagar University, where he secured First Merit Position. He received both Dean's Award 2021 and Dean's Merit Award 2021 for his outstanding academic result. He also holds a Specialized LL.M. in International Law from the same University. Alongside his academic journey, he gained professional experience as a Junior Associate at the reputed law firm ProLegal, where he was engaged in corporate and commercial legal matters.
His academic and professional contributions extend beyond the classroom. He led his universities to many remarkable success in national and international moot court competitions, including:
- 10th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Bangladesh National Round) 2026 – Department of Law and Land Administration, RU, Achieved the Spirit of the Jessup Award, first ever national moot achievement in LLA-RU’s history.
- 9th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Bangladesh National Round) 2025 – CUB Achieved 6th place nationally among 44 universities, the highest in CUB’s history.
- Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition 2024-2025 (Bangladesh Round) – CUB Ranked 5th among 35 universities.
- 3rd TIB-DUMCS Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition 2024 – CUB secured 4th position among 20 participating universities.
He also advised and organized several academic and co-curricular initiatives, including:
- 3rd CUB Intra-Department Moot Court Competition 2024
- Research and Reality: A Documentary Festival on the Law of Torts in Bangladesh 2024
- 2nd International Law Fest 2020 – “International Conflict and Human Rights”
In addition to his academic and research endeavors, Mashrur has been active in legal aid and editorial work. He volunteered as a Street Lawyer with iProbono, providing pro bono legal support to underprivileged communities in Dhaka, and served as an Editorial Assistant at NILS Bangladesh, contributing to legal publications and research projects. With a strong passion for mooting, legal pedagogy, and research, Mashrur Rahman Mahin remains deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of legal scholars and practitioners through his teaching, mentorship, and continued scholarly engagement at the University of Rajshahi.
