Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS), University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. His primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive coursework and supervising the research activities of M.Phil. and Ph.D. fellows at IBS. In addition to his teaching and research duties, he also holds an administrative position as the Warden of the IBS Hostel.
Before joining IBS, Dr. Islam served as a Professor of Management in the Department of Humanities at the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET). He has published more than twenty-three papers in nationally and internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and has successfully completed five research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and RUET.
Dr. Islam is currently leading a research project titled “Revisiting Current HR Roles to Promote Green HRM for Leading Industry Sectors in Bangladesh.” He has recently presented two research papers at international conferences held in Thailand and India.
In his previous administrative roles at RUET, he served as the Chair of the Department of Humanities (April 2019 – April 2023), Provost of the Female Hall, and In-Charge of the Central Store.
His research interests encompass Trust in Digital Banking, Corporate Digital Responsibility, Social Capital, Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM), sustainable entrepreneurship, creating shared value, corporate social responsibility, strategic management, and leadership.
