Research Interest: I have completed my Ph.D. degree from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, in the year of 2005. Thesis Title: “Potential of combining plant derived compounds and diatomaceous earth for the management of Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) and Sitophilus oryzae (L.)” I have conducted my research work taking phytochemicals like; Eugenol, Zimtaldehyde and Neem oil and DE (Diatomaceous earth) like; Protect-It & Silico sec. Assessing Contact toxicity (separately, admixture, by topical application, by filter paper), Fumigation test, Repellency test. I have completed post doctoral research work taking plant extracts and Inert dusts against stored-grain pests at Key Laboratory of Insect Resources Utilization and Sustainable Pest Management, College of Plant Science & Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan - 430070, Hubei, P.R. China, Since January 2007 to December 2009. Ongoing research on Application of Integrated Pest Management and Eco-friendly Management of Crop Production Reducing Environmental Pollution and Sustainable Development. I have completed five-year research programme taking Phytochemicals and Diatomaceous earth (DE) for the management of Stored-grain pest in Bangladesh, under the scholastic supervision of Dr. Md. Mahbub Hasan (mmhbgd@yahoo.com ), Professor Dept. of Zoology, University of Rajshahi, Banglades and finally got Ph.D. award. I have also completed one and half of a year research work taking synthetic and botanical pesticides and their comparison on stored-grain pests in Bangladesh in the laboratory of Entomology department, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh under the scholastic supervision of Dr. Farid Ahmed Talukder (f.a.talukder@gmail.com ) in the year of 1995–1996 and got M.S.in Entomology degree. I have gathered Teaching and Research experiences twenty (20) years, supervise ten Masters, two M.Phil and two Ph.D. fellows, besides Entomology I have successfully conducting teaching classes on Plant Pathology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agronomy and Agricultural Extension at Under Graduate level. |

Abul Kalam Azad holding a PhD supported by Monbusho/Monbukagkusho scholarship in the field of Biological and Environmental Systems from Ehime University, Japan as well as a JSPS Postdoc Fellow of Kochi University, Japan. Research Interest: My research area indicates the intersection of molecular biology, plant physiology, crop genetics and breeding and controlled environment agriculture. I focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms of gene expression regulation, identification of gene location and insertion of target gene in response to genetics, environmental and nutritional factors, with a particular emphasis on hydroponic culture, vertical farming, and greenhouse cultivation systems. I am especially interested in developing strategies for plant nutrition management and exploring the role of LED supplementary lighting in optimizing photosynthesis, fruit development, quality improvement and off-season growing watermelon, strawberry. Additionally, my work aims to enhance the productivity and quality of horticultural crop by integrating advanced technologies in breeding and controlled environment agriculture |
